First it was the sadness of having to say goodbye to two loving friends – Both of whom lost
their lives to cancer.
Then it was the story of another who needed help.
Out of that an idea was conceived – A way of healing hearts and providing hope – Through the creation and sale of exquisite hand-made scarves and wraps in the fall and winter, embellished flip-flops during the warmer months and restored vintage crystal chandelier drops which take on a new life as drop-dead pendants, pet beds made from some of the most sought-after designer fabrics and adorable mini-canvas WIK Kindness Treat Totes available all year round.
All net proceeds from the sale of crystal pendants, flip flops, scarves, pet beds and totes are donated to animal-related charities to support their efforts to provide Pets In Need and their families the funds necessary to pay for their veterinary care.
More than $9,000 was raised by Wrapped In Kindness and distributed to charity during the last 3 months of 2004. During the summer of 2005 we sold more than 300 pairs of flip flops - and by years end had made directed donations to save the lives of numerous wonderful family pets and donated an additional $10,000 to Katrina animal relief efforts. All told more than $25,000 was donated to animal related charities during 2005. In 2006 more than $40,000 was raised through the sale of WIK products – all of it donated to help Pets in Need.
